Mad Hair No. 2

graphite, ink, charcoal, and pastel
24.6 x 21.6 cm (9.7" x 8.5")

As promised, an unflattering portrait of a young dancer, who didn't seem at all unhappy to be sitting for a portrait. Although the drawing isn't far off as a likeness, the way in which the mouth and eyes are done certainly suggests unhappiness.

It's interesting how, when drawing, a line, here or there, can completely change an expression.
