This is an older work. It was done on cardboard. The cardboard does provide some colour, and a contrast for the gouache. It's not exactly acid free, however.

The model was very pale, although not as ghostly as the drawing suggests. She was holding onto a strap hanging from above her head. The back drop was a dirty white to one side, and black to the other, with an interesting cast shadow.
