Duck by the Window
gouache
23.6 x 40.6 cm (9.3" x 16")
Another twenty minute painting.
There's a blurred green area above the duck's back. It's actually supposed to be part of the duck's back. The wood is stained green there. In my rush to do the painting, it ended up looking more like a shadow than part of the duck.

It's been a busy couple of weeks. I've had little time to blog. I'm hoping that things will ease up a bit.
Japanese Character
ink and charcoal
35.6 x 27.9 cm (14" x 11")
I assume that's a Japanese character on the model's back. (By the way the character is poorly drawn. Somehow it should conform more to the contours of the back, and, as a result, be a little distorted.)
One thing that I like about the drawing is that you can still see the lines that were use to set up the drawing. It seems to me that those set lines are critical in determining the proportions in a drawing.
